Christian Learning Center of Central Pennsylvania
"A Christian educational ministry of excellent quality for church leaders and members where they live."
What is the Christian Learning Center?
CLC or Central PA has a plan for equipping today's
busy Christian ministers and lay people with theological knowledge, ministry
skills and competencies. Our mission is for the delivery of biblical,
theological, and practical education to Christians wherever they live. Equipping
for ministry will put you in position to play an active part in ministering
both inside and outside the church in a multitude of ministries. And what's
more, this training is available to you where you are and at your convenience
without having to uproot and move to a specific location.
The center is located in
Winfield, PA and is hosted at Winfield Baptist Church. Dr. John Thornbury,
pastor of Winfield Baptist, serves as the Center Director. The CLC is a
Seminary Extension Center sponsored by
the Baptist Convention of PA/SJ and the six Southern Baptist Seminaries.
Credit Transfer
A
number of colleges have accepted Seminary Extension diploma courses toward
baccalaureate degrees. Any student desiring such transfer credit should clear
plans with the institution of choice before enrolling with Seminary Extension.
A student must take a monitored final examination provided by Seminary
Extension in order to qualify for course transfer credit
ACE (The
American Council on Education) reviewed a number of Seminary Extension's
high-activity courses and recommended most of the them as worthy of two or
three semester hours of credit on the baccalaureate level. The Baptist
Convention of PA/SJ has entered into a partnership with Luther Rice University to accept
the ACE courses for transfer credit.
