Disaster Relief Nursing:  BNF will be assisting PA/SJ Disaster Relief teams as they minister in disaster sites.  Requirements: SBC disaster Relief training through PA/SJ.  It is a desire of our disaster relief teams to have a nurse assigned to each feeding to meet various health related needs.
Questions about Disaster Relief nursing contact Mary Becraft.

How you can be involved in Disaster Relief as a Nurse:
  1. Disaster Relief Nursing:  You will be assigned to a feeding or another unit that is sent out from PA/SJ.  Your primary duty is with the unit you are assigned such as feeding, chain saw or mud out unit responsibilities.  Secondary responsibility is nursing.  Be assured your skills will be used!
Requirements:  SBC Disaster Relief training (provided at different locations throughout the state), CPR, First Aid training
Contact:  Lauren Laws to hear how she used her skills in this setting.
  1. Red Cross Disaster Relief Nurse:  there is no guarantee that you will be assigned to a PA/SJ unit but your nursing and faith skills go with you.
Requirements:  Local Red Cross Disaster Relief Nursing Course and requirements.  A bonus is that this course can possibly can count for required for CEU’s for PA and NJ.  Check with your state nursing board.
