In the spring of 2012 Southern Baptist churches across Pennsylvania/South Jersey are encouraged to participate in the second national "God's Plan for Sharing" emphasis.

Reaching Across Penn-Jersey

The Reaching People Team is encouraging churches to use either one or a combination of both outreach opportunities seeking to penetrate lostness in their reaching area.
There are two ways to participate in Reaching Across Penn-Jersey:

EASTER Gospel Invitational Campaign

Plan a Prayer Walk and Gospel Distribute to homes with invitations to attend Easter services
one to two weeks prior to the EASTER.
Materials for the Gospel Distribution (bags and drop-in gospel tract) may be purchased from www.outreach.com/findithere.
Make plans to follow-up with those who attended the EASTER Services.

Community High Impact Outreach Event

Host, plan and implement a high impact evangelistic community-reaching
event sometime during April or May, June or July, or August or September 2012.

The Reaching People Team is providing evangelism Seed Money

The Reaching People Team of the Baptist Resource Network will provide $300 Seed Money to the first 150 churches or church plants to participate in the 2012 Reaching Across Penn-Jersey outreach emphasis.

We want to impact lostness in Penn-Jersey because:

· Penn-Jersey has a population of 16+ million with an estimated lostness of 12+ million.
· There is one Southern Baptist church for every 41,025 people in Penn-Jersey.
· Helping Penn-Jersey churches connect with their communities will strengthen the evangelistic witness sowing the gospel with the hope of increasing an evangelistic harvest.

Implementation

· Each church receiving Reaching Across Penn-Jersey Seed Money is requested to send an event report that includes how the funds were used and the evangelistic results.
· Penn-Jersey churches can request Seed Money by email or by phone through their
regional Reaching People Team Coordinator.
· The Seed Money can be used for event publicity, materials, supplies, or follow-up needs.

What is GPS?

GPS stands for “God's Plan for Sharing”
God’s Plan for Sharing is a national Southern Baptist 10 year initiative that will require a cooperative effort between the North American Mission Board, the Baptist Resource Network of Penn-Jersey, local associations and local churches affiliated with the SBC.

The National GPS Strategy has 4 Biblical markers

· Praying - Every church praying for lost people.
· Equipping - Every believer sharing as a trained witness.
· Sowing - Every person receiving a gospel message.
· Harvesting - Every church involved in harvest events.
